Just west of Louisville, Indiana the Scales Lakes trails are network of singletrack that circumnavigate a small lake. It's about 5 miles, or slightly more than a half hour around, so most riders do multiple laps. The terrain is flat overall, but contains many short ups and downs that add up to about 500 vertical feet of climbing and descending per lap. The trail is all singletrack and for the most part secluded in the trees. The tight and twisty trail can be deceptively technical so pay attention or pay the consequences.
